$450.00

This listing is for the Wednesday 5:30pm-8:30pm class. This class runs during the Fall term which runs from 11/03-12/23 2025.

This class is great for complete beginners to get comfortable and introduced to pottery making on the wheel.  In this particular class your instructor (Pete) will focus heavily on surface design through the demonstration of various decorating techniques.  Each week students will be able to practice their skills on the wheel by learning how to throw cups, bowls and plates, they will be shown how to trim and fire them but in addition to this, each week as works are completed a new surface decorating technique will be introduced.  These techniques can be interesting to learn about, and try out, but by no means are students expected to be able to execute all of them.

The studio has limited tools and tiles for community use, feel free to purchase your own bat system and bring your own tools which you can store at the studio.  Please note that clay and firing fees are not included in the cost of class and must be purchased separately at an additional cost.  Open studio is free and unlimited and each student is issued their own private shelf to store works in progress and tools for the duration of the class.
