Coiling Monday 2-5pm

$535.00

This listing is for the Monday 2pm-5pm class. This class runs for eight consecutive weeks during the Fall term which runs from September 8th until November 2nd 2025.

This class is beginner friendly and very accessible as the technique of stacking coils tends to have a much flatter learning curve than wheel.  In this class students will be introduced to the coiling technique which is rolling clay into slender rods which are then stacked one on top of the other.  It's a slower, more meditative process which can take several sessions working on a single project.  It's also great for producing large pots.   Your instructor Pete has been producing bottles as Morandometti for years and is excited to bring handbuilding to Ceramics on 10th.

This class includes one 25lb block of sculpture clay.  Additional clay may be purchased if the student runs out.

The studio has limited tools and tiles for community use, feel free to purchase your own bat system and bring your own tools which you can store at the studio.  Please note that clay and firing fees are not included in the cost of class and must be purchased separately at an additional cost.  Open studio is free and unlimited and each student is issued their own private shelf to store works in progress and tools for the duration of the class.
