This listing is for the Thursday 6:30-9:30pm class. This class runs for eight consecutive weeks during the Fall term which runs from September 8th until November 1st.
This course led by Haewon aims to introduce new students to the process of making and firing pottery. Students will learn how to form cups and bowls and also how to trim them. Once works are fired they will be glazed and fired and finished. Beyond the basics we will also learn how to recycle clay, measure our works, and be good studio citizens.
The studio has limited tools and tiles for community use, feel free to purchase your own bat system and bring your own tools which you can store at the studio. Please note that clay and firing fees are not included in the cost of class and must be purchased separately at an additional cost. Open studio is free and unlimited, and each student is issued their own private shelf to store works in progress and tools for the duration of the class.

Week 3: Shaping the cylinder into a bowl
Week 4: Trimming and stamping/personalizing
Week 5: How to measure and fire works plus a plate demo
